Dave is a veteran of the sport. His running achievements are outstanding: a THREE TIME OLYMPIAN, two time Commonwealth Games representative, multiple Australian Champion at 5000m/10,000m/cross country, and a four time World Cross Country Championships representative.
His PBs are incredible but he most recently improved his 5000m time to 13:12.
He has always been a keen student of the sport, earning bachelors and master’s degrees in Exercise Physiology, where his published research was running related, and is now a Doctor of Physiotherapy, with a particular interest in running related injuries and training load management.
Besides his formal education, Dave has trained under and learnt from some of the world’s best coaches during his career. He has trained with some of the best runner’s in history, having been a long time training partner to Bernard Lagat – the second fastest 1500m runner of all time.
Dave takes a holistic approach to his coaching. He recognises the importance of making training enjoyable and sustainable, always ensuring it balances with each athlete’s commitments and priorities outside of running.
