Shaun’s love of sport and leading an active lifestyle began at a very young age.
Although, Shaun has always enjoyed running it was in 2008, following a life changing accident, that he was introduced to the sport of triathlon and this is when he discovered a passion for endurance sports, particularly running.
Throughout his transition from triathlon to running, Shaun has had the great benefit of being coached by Julian and more recently, Ellie Under Ellie’s guidance Shaun has developed as an athlete and continued to learn about the sport, dropping 7mins from his Marathon PB (2:50 at Gold Coast 2019) and 2mins from his 10km PB (35:05 at Sydney10 2021) in a little over 12 months. And he’s not finished yet!
Shaun is a husband, father of 2 young kids and holds a Bachelor of Exercise Science and Rehabilitation, a Masters of Occupational Health and Safety and works as a Health and Safety Consultant.
Combining his qualifications and underpinning knowledge in exercise science with his passion for running Shaun continues to guide and support others to achieve their goals and pursue their best. Over the past two years Shaun has seen athletes succeed and accomplish feats they never imagined possible. Whether that be finishing their first Marathon or shaving time off of their 5k Parkrun PB.
Shaun’s coaching philosophy is Athlete (person) centered. His core aim is to help athletes build confidence, to continuously improve and reach their potential – not only as an athlete but as an individual.
Shaun pours everything into his coaching and is committed to his own professional development. Shaun is both privileged and excited to bring his knowledge and skills to the Run Strong coaching team.
